Do you want to know what people have their eyes on at the gallery? Here are the five paintings we have had the most interest in this summer.
There are actually 9 paintings. First and Second place is shared place.
Let us get into it!
At number 5: "Twijfel" by Thea van Doorn
"Twijfel" or "Doubt" by Dutch artist Thea van Doorn is a large acrylic painting of 100cm x 100cm. Thea currently has an exhibition at Evermore in Rotterdam, celebrating her 75th birthday this year. And surprisingly several French collectors reached out about this painting this last month.

At number 4: "Left Behind IX" by Marko Klomp
"Left Behind 9" by Marko Klomp is a very large oil painting of an obfuscated sky with a single bird of prey. The sky and large clouds have always played a dominant role in Dutch landscapes. But what makes this exciting is that the landscape is only hinted at, at the bottom. Usually the landscape dominates the painting, or in Dutch landscapes take up at least 1/3 of the painting. This one only hints at a landscape.

"Blue Emperor" and "Eros" by artist Negar Rashidi are tied for by second place. "Blue Emperor" was sold earlier this summer, but we still see people flocking to the website, calling, sending e-mails. I think this is because they know Negar is making a smaller version of this work and they cannot wait until it is done, to grab it. I will let you know once the smaller one has become available. At the Dutch artist, Marko Klomp exhibition Perseverance he created a few miniature pieces for the show to accompany his very large oil paintings. These were experimental works, that were also made to entertain children at the show and the gallery. What has happened, is that we have had so many offers to buy these works, that we actually had to go put a price on them. As we told the first several collectors that they were not for sale. And after much deliberation we have come to a price. As we have had multiple people reaching out to us. We will make the listing available at the same time for everyone.
People love paintings!
Obviously I love every single one of the paintings at the gallery. Otherwise they would not be featured. These are the paintings as chosen by the public in the ways the reach out to us digitally and in person.
Art Historian Tascha Sciarone has a background in Anthropology and uses those skills learned there to compile these lists. Which allows her to compile qualitative as well as quantitative data, which she then presents it in this way. If you need a copy of my handwritten research graphs and tallies. Make an appointment. :) Or if you would like me to bring an artwork to you, you can also make an appointment through that link.
These results are also interesting, as Tascha had done zero marketing in the month of August, from which we took the data from. So there are no ads or social media posts from the gallery to skew the data. It is just the artists and their fans driving this list.
Love,
Tascha Sciarone
