Glow or Grow is a glow in the dark painting of a cutting in an old caper pot. The caper pot has grooves and edges that catch the light differently. Adéle studied the spectral effect of light through the water and the textured glass jar.
Adéle painted a series of paintings from this drawing exercise. She plays with Plato's philosophy on art and Mimesis. Plato did not like art. He argued that it does not belong to an intellectual society. Art was too far removed from reality to be of any value. Adéle has played with her sketches and Plato's ideas about art in her paintings.
